Absinthe Spoon

A stainless steel replica of a "Les Feuilles" absinthe spoon which was a part of the French absinthe ritual.The use of a perforated absinthe spoon originated in the early 1870s and since then almost all absinthe bars served absinthe with a perforated absinthe spoon.The French absinthe ritual served several purposes at once, which was to sweetened and diluted the absinthe and as a result the essential oils precipitate out of the alcoholic solution turning it into an opaque opalescent white.
